Course Overview

VMware vSphere 4.0 training gives you a thorough introduction to virtualization and the enterprise product line of VMware. You will learn how to install DNS, build ESX as a VM on a workstation, add a local account user in ESX host, and install an operating system on the virtual machine. You will gain a thorough understanding of vCenter, ISCSI, network connections, and network file system. The course covers networking concepts such as vSwitch, vNetwork distributed switch, and elaborates on how to configure and add VMkernal ports, create an isolated and distributed switch, and add another host to distributor switches etc. You will learn about shared and local storage, VM management and deployment, access control and permissions, resource allocation, and performance monitoring and tuning as well. The course will also make you proficient in securing ESX, and all data protection and clusters topics.

Course Outline

VMWare vSphere 4.0 will introduce you to vSphere 4 and cloud computing. Topics like profile driven storage, accelerator, vCenter changes, and new storage and network components are given adequate coverage. You will learn how to install, the requirements for installation, and the initial configuration.
