IT security industry could also be known as the job security industry this day in age. That being said, if you’re looking to get started in that direction, consider the Security+ option. It covers the system infrastructure basics along with networking security issues and many more forms of security. This well-rounded certification is held by over 45,000 professionals and is highly recognized by Fortune-500 companies along with the U.S. Military.
- (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional
Perhaps you’re looking to take your security career one step further. The CISSP is one of the most widely known and sought after certification in this industry and is often required for government entities. Most certifications have some type of perquisites, however, the CISSP is one of the few that actually requires five years of full-time professional security experience. Not to mention, the experience must be validated in at least two of the eight areas covered in the exam.
Obtaining this is no easy feat, but the return on this investment couldn’t be more worth it.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the largest cloud provider to date and has nearly the widest array of offerings. The growth rate is expected to increase 30%-70% over the next 3-5 years which marks a massive opportunity and advantage now to learn and divulge in the cloud world. The AWS is your early entry into this industry and is most popular to this day.

Networking doesn’t show many signs of coming to halt in the greater future and has become more important in the world of cloud computing and data storage. While we’re still looking toward the future you can’t help not mentioning the Internet of Things (IoT) and the connectivity of any and every device within an organization. Even with the deployment of cloud initiatives there is still a need for at least a few networking personnel.
